Party Time.... Excellent

Well, it was the best birthday part Elliot has had yet, and well it should be because it's the first one Erik has been home for! A great time was had by all, including the host and hostess, which says a lot. All together, we had about 14 kids (not counting 4 babies), and I think about 27 adults. There was lots to do for the kids: We brought out the bubble generator and let them all chase bubbles around, we had Elliot's train table set up as a dinosaur table (for the theme) and even had a soundtrack playing in the closet with prehistoric dinosaur sounds (apparently itunes has been around longer than I realized). We also had Elliot's easel set up outside with markers and dinosaur coloring pages which the kids all colored as a joint effort. Then we did pin-the-tail-on-the-dinosaur (you will see the picture of the winner!). Erik made amazing kabobs with chicken and veggies and beef, and we had fruit salad (thank you, Mary), and lots of snacks. For desert, we had carrot cake cupcakes, and the kids semi-watched The Land Before Time when things were starting to wind down. Then they got their goodie bags, which each had an animal nose and a dinosaur, among other things. The noses and the really loud party blowers were the biggest hits. It was so nice having all our friends and family there together. Erin made the trek all the way from Berkley to share the day with us. Also, my dad, and adopted parents, Gary and Leslie came from San Luis to join in the fun. Of course, the greatest thing ever was to have Erik there. Thank you to everyone for making the day so special and fun for Elliot. Excellent!
